And hour and a half later after breakfast and a shower we were on our way in a trekking that Diego arranged for us. They know everything there is to do in Sapa and are very willing to arrange it for you.
The place is located at the bottom of a big stairs therefore no cars and motorcycles can reach it or drive in the street in front of it, making it a very quiet location while still in the town center.

We spent just one... read more night there, but would have so badly wanted to stay longer. The restaurant is on 5th floor with a mesmerizing view of the hills and clouds. Sipping a coffee with that view just makes it all worth it. Diego helped us with everything, right from arranging a trek to arranging bikes for roaming around. And then we got to witness a Vietnamese grand feast on someone's birthday.

We booked on to do an overnight tour staying in one of the locals villages; however, on the day they asked if we would like to change to do just the day instead as the weather was raining hard! Which meant the villages will get flooded. We took their advice and went on the walking day trip. We were kindly leant wellies from the homestay and we were pleased after an amazing day, to come back to a warm bed and dry clothes!
As it was raining the homestay kindly put on a hot pot for all the guests, which was amazing, and also supplied us with happy water.
Room: ours was pretty small, but I know from meeting friends theirs was much bigger!

Distance to the SunPlaza (where the start of the Fansipan Cable Car / Monorail Station) looks near, but it was up slope all the way from the homestay.
The homestay was not located along the main street, and you have to go down around 30steps and a steep slope to reach the homestay from the main road. Not exactly convenient for those whom are not used to such climbing exercise. The place is only accessible by motorbike, so if u have large luggage... you should contact the owner to see if there can be other arrangement. More

He even helped us with last minute arrangements on bus ticket and change of stay due to flight delay and change in itinerary. There is one local restaurant recommended by the host; it’s near the homestay, nice and cheap! But one thing need to be aware of is the route to the Homestay, it might not be suitable for elderly people to walk up and down the steep stairs and slope, but we have expected that so it’s fine for us. And the host is slightly pushy in the trekking tour. He would assume we were joining the tour although we said we would consider first haha, so need to communicate clearly!
